Am I the only one who had a prop book fall apart during a shoot?
It happened on a student film in Austin, the fake leather cover just peeled off mid-take. What's your go-to method for making books look old but stay intact?

Ugh, that's the worst, especially on a tight schedule. I've had good luck with a mix of watered-down coffee stains and a light sanding on the edges, but the binding is the real trick. Don't you find that most methods only work on the outside and the glue still gives out? What do you do to actually reinforce the spine so it can handle being opened and closed all day?
