Unpopular opinion: starter discard recipes are overrated
I keep seeing people post fancy crackers and pancakes using their discard. Tried it three times. Every batch came out dense and tasted off. My neighbor Sarah raved about her discard biscuits. I made them exactly like she said. Honestly? Felt like a waste of flour and butter. If I'm gonna eat carbs, I want the real sourdough bread I planned for. Why spend extra ingredients on something that's basically a bonus? Am I the only one who just tosses the discard?

Used to think everyone was crazy for tossing their discard. Read a bunch of blogs and figured I was missing some secret trick. Nope. Tried three different recipes and they all turned out like dense hockey pucks. Just not worth the effort for me anymore.

Total waste of ingredients" is right. I tried once and ended up with what looked like a science experiment gone wrong, except I couldn't even salvage it for compost. My kitchen smelled like burnt regret for three days straight. At least you stopped early before your whole pantry turned into a biohazard like mine did.
