That $25 pH meter I swore was a gimmick
I picked up a cheap pH meter from Amazon for my ferments, totally expecting it to break after one use. Six months later and it's still spot-on, saved me from a bad batch of hot sauce that had stalled out. Anyone else find a budget tool that actually held up longer than expected?

No way, six months and still going? That's wild for a $25 meter, mine usually drift after a month or so. Honestly, I've had a cheap instant read thermometer from some random brand that's survived drops and dishwashers for like two years now. Guess sometimes the budget stuff just works if you get lucky.

My $25 meter drifted after three weeks, but I'm still using a $12 one I bought at a hardware store three years ago that's been through everything. I think consistency matters more than price with these things, you just gotta test them against ice water now and then.
