Spent $300 on a laser level for a big commercial job and it saved me two full days of layout.
Honestly, I was skeptical about the cost, but lining up 800 feet of post holes for a chain link run in a parking lot was dead straight on the first try, so has anyone found a cheaper brand that holds up just as well?

Aw man, tell me about it! I bought a cheapo laser level once and it was so off I might as well have been eyeballing it with my eyes closed haha. Ended up using it as a paperweight after I spent a whole Saturday redoing a patio layout that looked like a drunk snake. So yeah, $300 hurts but it's way cheaper than losing a weekend and your temper!

Tell me about it, that sting from the price tag is real. I felt the same way buying my first good one. But after seeing a crew waste half a day fixing a wavy foundation line from a bad rental, I get it now. You really do pay for that peace of mind, don't you?

Oh man, my buddy tried a cheap one from a big box store. It was off by an inch over fifty feet and he had to redo a whole fence line.
