Just realized the old crew I worked with in Phoenix 5 years ago would have laughed at using a laser level for a basic wood fence, now it's standard for the new guys.

Not trusting contractors" seems a bit strong. A slightly off fence post isn't the end of the world.

Remember the old guys who bragged about eyeballing everything? Half their fences looked like a roller coaster. Using a laser isn't about being fancy, it's about not having to fix your work later. The new standard just means we finally care about doing it right the first time. That old crew's pride in crooked work is why homeowners don't trust contractors.
