Was totally against capsule wardrobes until I had to pack for a 2 week trip in a single carry-on last summer
I used to think the whole minimalist wardrobe thing was just for Instagram aesthetic people, but cramming 14 days of outfits into one bag for a work trip to Portland forced me to actually try mixing and matching like 8 pieces and now I can't go back to having a closet full of stuff I never wear - anyone else cave and admit the trend haters were wrong?

I was totally against capsule wardrobes" - that phrasing is kind of funny when you think about it. Like, what's there to be "against"? It's just putting together some clothes that match. Not signing a treaty or joining a cult. I get it though, I tried the whole travel light thing for a weekend trip and ended up wearing the same two shirts in rotation. But I don't know if that makes me a convert. I still have a closet full of junk I barely touch. I think people treat this like it's some major life philosophy shift when really you just figured out how to pack better for a trip.

Ha, I saw this article that called capsule wardrobes "minimalism's gateway drug." Made me laugh but honestly it's kinda true! It's funny how something so simple gets turned into like a whole personality thing.
