Warning: my friend's wedding dress looked totally different after she switched from polyester satin to silk charmeuse for the lining.
The silk let the outer lace layer drape and move with her body instead of sticking to it, which completely changed the silhouette from stiff and boxy to soft and flowing, so has anyone else seen a fabric swap fix a design that just wasn't working?

Wasn't my friend's bridesmaid dress a total disaster until they swapped the scratchy tulle underskirt for a soft mesh? It went from looking like a cheap costume to something you'd actually want to wear.

Oh boy, I can totally relate! I once wore a bridesmaid dress that had so much scratchy tulle I felt like I was wrapped in sandpaper. @river_hart18, your friend made a smart swap there. I swear half the battle is just making sure you can move your arms without looking like a robot.

Wait, your friend's bridesmaid dress had a scratchy tulle underskirt that they swapped out for soft mesh? That must have been a real headache if it felt like sandpaper against her skin all day. Glad they figured out a fix before the wedding though, comfort makes a huge difference when you're standing around for photos and dancing.
