Tried sewing with freezer paper as a stabilizer after watching a TikTok hack and it gummed up my needle after 20 stitches on a satin blouse I was making for a friend's wedding next month.
Has anyone else had their machine act up from DIY hacks like this or is there a trick to making freezer paper work without ruining your project?

Sorry that happened to you, I know how frustrating that is on a nice garment you put time into. I tried the same trick with freezer paper last year on a cotton voile dress and ended up with sticky residue all over my feed dogs and the needle area, took me an hour with rubbing alcohol to clean it out. For satin especially I stick with a tear away stabilizer or even just tissue paper if I need something light, the freezer paper just doesn't handle the heat and speed of a sewing machine well.

Seconded what @nathan_patel said about the cleanup nightmare, I made the mistake of trying it on a rayon challis and spent a whole evening picking waxy bits out of my bobbin case.
