Spent 6 hours trying to fix a zipper pull on a jacket before I realized the real problem

Ngl I was working on a custom denim jacket for a client and the zipper pull kept slipping off. I spent like 4 hours trying different pliers and even bought a special zipper repair kit for $15. Turns out the slider itself was worn out on the inside which I only noticed after looking at it with a magnifying glass. Took another 2 hours to find a replacement slider that matched the color and size. Has anyone else struggled with zipper repairs that turned out way more complicated than they seemed?

Wait, so it was the slider all along and not the pull tab? That's honestly such a pain, I've been there. Last month I spent a whole afternoon fighting with a stuck zipper on my backpack, tried all the usual tricks like rubbing a pencil on it and stuff, then realized the teeth were misaligned from wear. It's wild how a zipper problem that looks like a quick fix can turn into a whole project, especially when you're already frustrated and just want it done. I feel your pain with that custom jacket, that's rough.

Oh man, been there with the backpack thing. I finally fixed a stuck zipper on my favorite hoodie by actually squeezing the sides of the slider gently with pliers. Just a tiny bit of pressure, not too hard. Sometimes they get spread out over time and lose grip on the teeth. It's not a perfect fix, but it bought me another year with that hoodie.
