Spent 4 hours on a single zipper pocket and it still looked crooked
I was working on a denim jacket for a client in Denver and thought a zippered chest pocket would be a quick addition. After cutting it wrong twice and ripping out the stitches three times, that one pocket ate up my whole Sunday afternoon. Anyone else have a detail that looks simple but took way more time than it should?

Bought a cheap sewing machine off Craigslist once and spent an afternoon trying to thread the bobbin. Turns out I'd been putting the spool on upside down for like two hours. Felt like a real genius.

Three hours on a bobbin, and you call that a bad day? I've spent longer looking for my car keys while holding them. @schmidt.grant, the sewing machine probably didn't care which way the spool was facing. It just sat there silently judging you like all inanimate objects do. Honestly, if it stitches in the end, you win.
