I used a $3 pack of binder clips to fix a dress that wouldn't drape right
I was working on a silk slip dress for a friend's wedding, and the bias cut just kept twisting and bunching at the hips. In a panic, I clipped the excess fabric at the seams with small black binder clips from my desk to see the shape, and it actually showed me exactly where to take it in. Has anyone else used office supplies as a quick mock-up tool for tricky fabrics?

Honestly that's the real life hack, using whatever's on hand to solve a problem. It feels like we're all just doing jury-rigged fixes with tape and hope.

Ever tried to fix a wobbly table leg with a stack of old magazines? I've used a butter knife as a screwdriver more times than I can count. Sometimes the best fix is just what's already in the junk drawer. It might not be pretty, but it gets the job done until you can find a real solution.
