Unpopular opinion: I miss the old forge smell from my grandpa's shop in Cheyenne

Last week I smelled a propane forge and it just wasn't the same as the coal smoke from 3 years ago. Anyone else get that, or is it just me?

That Cheyenne wind carried the real smell.

That's a Wyoming truth, cameron724. Drove through there last fall and the air just hits different. It's not just sage, it's dust and cold and something old. Makes the air back home smell fake.

Are you really telling me that a smell from 3 years ago is some kind of life changing thing? I get being nostalgic but it's just smoke from burning coal, not some magical elixir. The wind in Cheyenne carries whatever's in the air, good or bad, and I'm pretty sure half of that "old" smell is just dust and pollen. Maybe your grandpa's forge just had a weird mixture of whatever he was burning that day.
