I thought I could fix a crack in a hoof wall in under an hour - three days later I was still at it
A client brought in a horse with a nasty crack running up the toe last week and I figured Id patch it quick with some acrylic and fiberglass. I got the hoof cleaned up and prepped but the crack went way deeper than I thought almost to the coronary band. I spent about six hours over three afternoons drilling stop holes and cleaning out debris before I could even think about filling it. By the time I was done I had to come back twice more because the material kept lifting from moisture seeping in. I guess I always knew cracks could be tricky but this one humbled me pretty hard. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a multi day project like this?

Yeah moisture is a nightmare, had a similar crack laugh at my first patch too.

Ground that sucker out first next time before you even clean it.
