Hit my 1000th shoe today and it finally clicked

Pulled my 1000th shoe this morning on a Belgian draft in our shop. That was the exact moment I realized my hammer control actually got better without me noticing. Has anyone else had a specific number that made something click for them?

My 800th something was the one that got me, I think it was a standardbred that finally made me realize my nippers weren't drifting as much as they used to. I remember just standing there holding the shoe and it hit me that all those little adjustments I'd been making every day actually added up to something. It's wild how the body just learns without you even trying, like you're not paying attention and then one day you notice your hands are doing stuff they couldn't do a year ago. I'm happy for you, that feeling of actually seeing the progress is the best part of this trade.
