Used to skip hand massage in facials, now it's my favorite part
For like 2 years I would just do the bare minimum on the neck and shoulders part... just a few quick rubs. Then I had this client last fall who was super tense, and I spent a solid 5 minutes on her traps and she literally almost fell asleep. Now I make sure to give at least 3-4 minutes of proper massage every time, and my bookings have gone up. Has anyone else found that adding a little extra touch keeps people coming back?

Five minutes on someone's traps? That sounds like pure magic but also a little insane if you think about it. I can't imagine staying still that long without my brain wandering.

@valwest Oh man, the brain wandering thing is so real. I tried one of those extended trap releases once and by minute three I was mentally planning my grocery list and replaying a weird conversation from three years ago. It's like my brain fights being still harder than my muscles do. But honestly, that's probably part of the point right? Gotta let both the body and the mind just sit there and chill for a bit. Still feels like an eternity though.
