TIL my old 'one size fits all' facial approach was costing me clients.

I used to push the same intense peel on everyone for years, but after a client in Austin with rosacea had a bad reaction, I switched to a full 15-minute consultation first. Has anyone else found that slowing down the intake process actually builds more trust and better results?

Oh man, that's such a good point. I used to rush through the start of appointments too, and it totally backfired. Had a client with super sensitive skin, and I just assumed a gentle cleanser would be fine, but it still irritated her. Now I ask way more questions up front, like what products they're using at home. That extra five minutes makes them feel heard, and I get way fewer call-backs about problems.

Totally agree! I started doing a quick skin check like @sethc12 mentioned, and it saves so many headaches (and saves my clients' skin).

Ever try a patch test first, like @hall.ruby's extra questions?
