Stop using micellar water on oily clients faces

I keep seeing esties at my salon in Denver using micellar water as a first cleanse for acne prone skin and it drives me crazy. The surfactants leave a film that clogs pores worse than before. Has anyone else noticed blackheads coming back faster after using this?

Micellar water definitely leaves residue on oily skin and I've seen the same with clients here. The surfactants in it aren't designed to rinse off fully so they build up over time, especially on already clogged pores. Most people don't realize that even the ones labeled for oily skin still leave that film. Double cleansing with an oil based cleanser first works way better for getting rid of that blackhead issue.
