Showerthought: Keeping my treatment room lights dim during consultations puts clients at ease
I used to have all the lights on bright when talking with new clients. Now, I lower the lights to a soft glow for the initial chat. People seem more open about their skin concerns, and I get better information. It makes the whole process feel less clinical and more personal.

Dim lights might put clients at ease, but it feels kinda shady to me. Bright light keeps things honest and professional. Like @wren_smith44's cafe story, low light just makes people babble too much.

Did my friend's low-lit cafe make people share too much?

Read somewhere that dim light tricks the brain into feeling hidden... so people just spill everything.
