Shoutout to the esthetician in Tampa who said she never uses steam before extractions
I heard her on a podcast last month and it really made me stop and think. She said the heat can make already angry skin worse, especially for rosacea types, and she just uses a warm compress for five minutes instead. I tried skipping the steamer on my next three clients with sensitive skin and the redness after was way less. Has anyone else moved away from steam for certain skin conditions?
Tried a gentler prep method before my last peel and saw much better results. My skin was less red and healed faster because it wasn't already stressed. It's worth testing on a small area first.
Totally agree with testing a gentler prep. I switched to just a mild cleanser for a week before my last treatment and it made a huge difference. My skin felt way calmer going into the whole process.
