My high frequency machine gave me a tiny shock during a facial last Tuesday
I was finishing up on a client's chin when I felt a sharp little zap through my glove, so I immediately unplugged the unit and switched to a manual extraction for the rest of the service, but now I'm nervous to use it again without getting it checked out by a technician. Has anyone had a similar issue with their HF machine and know a good place in the Tampa area for a repair?

Honestly, that sounds like a pretty common static thing. Those machines can build up a little charge, especially in dry air, and it just finds a path through the glove. Getting it checked is never a bad idea for peace of mind, but it might not be a real equipment fault. My old unit used to do that sometimes and it never meant the machine was broken.

Totally agree with @susanh46, my old dryer gave me a static zap every winter.

Yeah, like susanh46 said, try a dryer sheet or a damp cloth to cut the static.
