A client with rosacea taught me a new way to prep skin for extractions

I had a regular client whose rosacea would flare up badly after any extraction work, no matter how gentle I was. The usual prepping with steam and a cleanser just wasn't cutting it. On a hunch, I switched my method. Instead of steaming, I started using cool, damp microfiber cloths pressed gently on her face for a solid five minutes before starting. I also mixed a tiny bit of my calming serum with the pre extraction gel to add a barrier. The difference was huge. Her redness went down by at least half during the service, and she said it felt way less irritated. It made me think about how heat can be a trigger for some skin types. I'm curious if anyone else has found cool compresses work better for sensitive clients during certain steps?

My last beach trip was brutal. Kept a damp towel in the fridge and it was a total game changer. Made the peeling way less awful.
