TIL you can haggle estate sale prices on day one if you buy multiple items

I always thought you had to wait till the last day to get discounts at estate sales wa. But last weekend I tried asking nicely if they'd take $60 for a bundle of three lamps priced at $80 total. The lady running it in Redmond said yeah right off the bat. Has anyone else had luck negotiating early instead of waiting for the half-off day?

Tried the same thing at an estate sale in Ballard last month with a set of midcentury chairs. They had them priced at $150 for four, and I just asked if they'd take $100 for all of them since I was buying the whole set. The guy running it said yes without even hesitating, so I think it really depends on the person running the sale. Some folks just want to move stuff quickly, even on day one, especially if you're taking multiple items off their hands.

Nice, glad you scored those chairs! @mason.paige you're right, it's all about the person running the sale. I hit an estate sale in Phinney Ridge last weekend. Had a old wooden ladder I wanted. They wanted $40. I asked if they'd take $25 since I was buying a lamp too. Guy just shrugged and said sure. Some people are just chill about moving stuff.
