The weekend I found a full set of 1960s Pyrex in Bellevue for $40
Last spring I hit this estate sale in Bellevue on a Friday morning, first in line. The place was a hoarder house, total mess, but buried in the basement were four boxes of vintage Pyrex in the Gooseberry pattern. I grabbed the whole lot for $40. Turns out the set was missing only one bowl, and I sold the rest on eBay for $320 over the next two weeks. That was my best score by far. Has anyone else had a crazy good find that paid off way more than expected?

Wait is it really that serious though? I mean yeah Gooseberry is cute and all but people act like it's the holy grail or something. You got lucky with the price but honestly those patterns aren't that rare, you can find them at any decent flea market if you look hard enough. And $320 over two weeks after fees and shipping probably left you with what, like $250 maybe? That's good money but it's not exactly life changing. I just don't get the hype over old dishes that chip if you look at them wrong and can't go in the microwave. Feels like people get caught up in the story more than the actual value.

My heart actually sank a little reading this, that's the kind of find we all dream about. 40 bucks for a nearly complete Gooseberry set is insane.
