Pro tip: skip the 'vintage' tool chests unless you can open every drawer

I paid $75 for a locked one at a sale in Spokane, and the lock was rusted shut with nothing inside. Anyone know a good locksmith for old toolboxes?

Did you try any of the usual tricks before giving up on the lock? Sometimes a good soak in penetrating oil and a few careful taps with a hammer can free up old rust. A locksmith might charge more than the chest is worth.

That old lock might just be broken for good, not stuck. I've seen some that are beyond saving no matter what you try.
