Picked up a set of vintage Pyrex bowls at a sale in Tacoma last Saturday
I went to an estate sale in Tacoma last Saturday and spotted a full set of primaries (yellow, green, blue, red) for only $25! They were sitting in a dusty corner of the kitchen with no chips or cracks. The seller said they belonged to the homeowner's grandma who collected them back in the 1950s. I snapped them up quick and checked online later to find similar sets going for $150 or more. Has anyone else gotten lucky with vintage kitchenware at a local sale?

Oh actually the red on the vintage primaries is more of a warm butterflame red, not orangey tomato. The 70s remakes have a cooler, brighter red though so you're right to check for that. Either way $25 for a clean set is a killer deal.

That primary set for $25 is a steal, especially no chips. I'm curious though - did you check the color on the red one? I've seen some later Pyrex knockoffs that look close but have a slightly different hue. The real vintage red has that almost orangey tomato tone, while the 70s remakes are more of a bright fire engine red. Your mileage may vary but I'd hold it up to a known example just to be sure. What's the mark on the bottom, is it the old red Pyrex logo or the newer script?
