I got roasted by an old lady at a Bellevue estate sale last spring

She told me I was pricing my vintage Pyrex too high and said 'nobody wants your 70s kitchen junk if it has a scratch'. I used to mark pieces up based on eBay listings but after that I started checking for actual wear and damage first. Now I price down for any flaw and things move way faster. Has anyone else gotten blunt feedback from a shopper that actually helped?

Honestly, that "nobody wants your 70s kitchen junk if it has a scratch" line is brutal but real. I used to just look at sold listings and think any chip or mark didn't matter that much. But after getting some blunt feedback myself, I realized buyers actually do care a lot about condition over price.

oh god that old lady was harsh but she was right though. i had a guy at a flea market tell me my "vintage" mugs were just goodwill junk and i was fuming but then i actually looked at them and he was totally right about the fade and scratches. now i catch myself doing the same thing, checking everything like five times before i put a price on it.
