I finally found a simple way to spot the estate sales worth going to

After too many wasted Saturday mornings driving to sales with nothing but old Tupperware and broken lamps, I started checking the photos for kitchen tools and bookshelves. If the listing showed a good set of Wusthof knives or a full collection of old cookbooks, I knew the homeowner probably had taste. Has anyone else found a reliable clue in the pictures that saves you time?

Oh YES, the knife test is EVERYTHING for weeding out the junk sales!

The knife test saved me from buying a motorhome that looked perfect in the photos but was a total lemon. I flew out to see it, pulled out my pocket knife, and hit the side paneling. The blade went right through like butter - that thing was pure dry rot and bondo. The seller turned white as a ghost and tried to say it was "just a patch." Walked away right then and there, dodged a $30,000 bullet. Now I take that test on everything fiberglass or wood, saved my skin more times than I can count.
