Heard someone at the Spokane sale say cash only is a scam...

But the other side said it keeps the tire kickers away and makes the line move faster at the checkout. Which side do you lean on for the smaller estate sales around here?

Buddy of mine went to a sale that was cash only and forgot to hit the ATM first. Had to drive fifteen minutes to find one and by the time he got back the best stuff was already gone. He still swears by cash only places though because he says the crowd is way more serious and he hates people who just stand around blocking aisles.

Does your buddy also think the cash-only thing keeps out the casual lookie-loos who just want something to do on a Saturday? @matthew_owens9 I actually get that frustration with people blocking aisles (it drives me crazy too when someone plants themselves right in front of a table and just stares at their phone). The serious crowd thing is real though - cash only filters out people who aren't ready to buy on the spot, which means less time wasted haggling over silly stuff. But man, that ATM mistake is a classic rookie move (or even a veteran move if you're tired and distracted, which I've done myself). I'd say the trick is to always grab cash the night before so you're not rushing around morning of, because nothing stinks worse than watching someone else snag the thing you wanted while you're stuck in a checkout line.
