Estate sale prices went way up then dropped back down - what gives?

I go to sales in Spokane pretty regular. Two years ago everything was cheap. Like $5 for a vintage lamp cheap. Then last summer prices shot up. Saw a chipped Pyrex bowl for $40. Felt crazy. Now this month I'm seeing stuff back to normal. Like $3 for old records. What happened? Did the resellers give up or did sellers get real again?

Man, my buddy who flips furniture told me he walked into a sale last fall and some lady was asking $100 for a scratched up coffee table. He just laughed and walked out. Now he's picking up the same kind of stuff for like twenty bucks. Must've been a bubble or something.

Wait, people were actually paying a hundred bucks for scratched up furniture?
