Serious question, I've been setting governor tension by feel for a decade until a new guy at the shop in Charlotte asked me why I don't just use the spring scale from the tool crib.
I pulled out the dusty scale, checked my last three jobs, and found I was running them 15 pounds over spec the whole time, which explains the weird chatter I kept writing off as normal wear.

Ever feel like your own experience is the worst teacher? I've been that guy trusting my gut over a simple tool, only to make my own extra work. Guess we all need a rookie to point out the obvious sometimes.
