Old timer told me to stop using penetrating oil on seized bolts in the machine room

My mentor from the local IUEC hall swore by heat instead of PB Blaster on controller bolts - tried it last Tuesday on a stubborn MRL governor and had it loose in 2 minutes. Has anyone else made the switch away from liquid penetrants?

Man that old timer knew what he was talking about. Heat is way faster than waiting for penetrating oil to work its way in there and half the time it doesn't even help on rusted stuff. I switched to a small propane torch a couple years back after a buddy in the trade showed me and I haven't touched PB since. Just gotta be careful not to cook any wiring nearby or melt plastic parts on the machine. Works like a charm on those stubborn brake bolts too.

Amen to that, torches beat spray every time.
