A building downtown went from 8 callbacks a month to 1 after a full rope change

I've been working on this 15-story office building for about five years now, and their main elevator was a real problem child (always getting stuck between floors, you know the type). The maintenance logs showed an average of 8 callbacks a month for over a year, mostly for leveling issues and door faults. We finally convinced the owners to approve a full traction rope replacement back in January, which took our crew three days. Since we finished that job in early February, the callback log for that car shows only one service ticket in the last three months. It's a huge difference just from addressing the core wear on the ropes. Has anyone else seen a single fix cut down callbacks that much on an older unit?

Wow, that's a crazy drop in callbacks! It really shows how one worn part can cause a ton of other problems. Makes you wonder how many "problem" units just need that one big fix.

That reminds me of a tech article about how fixing one old part can stop a chain of small failures. It lines up with what sage_lewis10 said about problem units needing that one big fix. Sometimes you just have to replace the worn-out core piece to get everything running smooth again.
