That week in March where every single job was a water-damaged phone

Fixed seven of them back to back, and the last one was a Pixel 8 that the owner dropped in a saltwater tide pool. Anyone have a go-to method for salt corrosion that actually works?

I've had decent luck with a long soak in isopropyl alcohol, then a careful scrub with a soft toothbrush.

What about the fumes from that much alcohol? Opening all your windows feels like a must. I worry about pets or kids breathing that in. A well ventilated garage might be safer than a kitchen sink. Just a risk I never see mentioned.

hugo_jones2 brings up a good point about fumes, but I'd gently disagree about the garage being safer. Actually, garages often have worse ventilation than a kitchen, especially if you don't have windows open in there. And @the_zara's alcohol soak method works great, but just make sure you're not using isopropyl in a small enclosed space no matter where you set up.
