Customer said my solder joints looked 'cold' and I got defensive at first
I was fixing a vintage amp last month and this guy told me my solder joints looked cold and might crack later. I was annoyed but looked closer and yeah, they were dull and not flowing right. Anyone else have a customer call out something that actually made you better at the work?

Yeah my first thought was always "what do they know" but after a few times of being wrong I started actually listening. Real talk though, it stings less now and my work got better for it.

Have you ever seen someone completely change gears like that? I knew a guy who used to argue with every single edit his boss made, tried to fight every bit of feedback like it was a personal attack. One day he finally just said "okay" and went with it, and within a month his designs were getting shown at the team meeting as examples. He told me later he realized he was just being stubborn because he was scared of being wrong, not because the feedback was bad.
