Switched from wire nuts to Wago lever nuts on a big apartment rewire
I used to twist everything with wire nuts for years, thinking it was the only right way. Then on a 40-unit building job last fall, my foreman handed me a box of 221 series lever nuts and said to try them. I was done with the first floor in half the time, and the inspector actually complimented the connections. Now I keep a mix of both in my bag, but I grab the Wagos for any multi-wire splice or when I'm in a tight box. What's your go-to for splices these days?

Had the same thing happen on a commercial kitchen rewire. The boss brought in a case of those lever Wagos for the lighting circuits. Made adding those extra feeds for the dimmers so much cleaner, no more wrestling with a bundle of wires in a shallow box. They just save so much time on the repetitive stuff.

Totally agree about the time saved on repeat jobs! Read a forum post last week where an electrician said his whole crew switched to lever connectors for all their residential retrofits. They claimed it cut their box makeup time in half on old houses with crumbling insulation. That clean install in shallow boxes is a game changer for sure. Makes you wonder why anyone still twists wires together for lighting circuits.
