Dropped $400 on a fancy wire fish tape that snapped on my first real job

Bought this supposed pro-grade fish tape from a big box store thinking it would save me time on a 3-story condo rough-in. On the third pull through a tight conduit, the damn tip broke clean off and I had to fish it out of the wall with a magnet. Anyone else had a tool fail like that or just me?

Funny how the expensive stuff always breaks first, almost like paying more just buys you better marketing.

Funny you say that, I once bought a $60 "premium" kettle that died in three months. My $15 plastic one from the grocery store is still going strong five years later. Guess I should've known, expensive stuff hates me almost as much as I hate spending money on it.
