Drawn-out panel upgrade made me rethink hurry-up culture
I raced through installations before, but waiting on inspections for weeks changed my approach. Now I schedule with padding for delays.

Did the waiting itself make you realize something new?

Pointing out that the waiting itself didn't teach you something new. It just forced you to finally see the cost of the rush. You probably already knew cutting corners on scheduling was risky. The weeks of delay just made that hidden cost impossible to ignore. The lesson was always there, buried under the pressure to go faster. The hurry-up culture was the problem, not the waiting.

Read an article that called this "hurry sickness." The constant push for speed just hides the real problems until they blow up.
