Painted my kitchen cabinets last spring and they're already peeling

I did a full sand and prime job back in April on my 1990s oak cabinets in that south-facing kitchen. The paint started lifting near the stove handles after just 4 months. Did I skip a step or is this just an Edmonton humidity issue messing with the cure time?

Honestly, did you use a bonding primer? Ngl, I painted mine last summer and it's peeling too, I'm so frustrated.

Honestly that's the real question right there. Did you use a bonding primer or just a regular one? Because I made that mistake on my first try too, grabbed whatever was cheapest from the store and just went for it. Now I'm sitting here peeling strips of paint off my cabinets every morning like it's some kind of weird hobby. What brand did you use on yours? Maybe we both got sold something that just doesn't stick to wood right.
