That Thursday where I almost threw my TV remote through the window

We were watching this crime show on Netflix last week and the main character breaks into a suspect's house without a warrant, finds a bloody knife in the dishwasher, and the judge just allows it as evidence. I'm pretty sure the Fourth Amendment would have something to say about that, but apparently in TV land you can just waltz right in. Has anyone else noticed how often shows just ignore basic laws to move the plot along?

Nah, it's just a show. Not that deep.

Twenty years ago when my daughter was going through a rough patch, I started watching The West Wing every night before bed. It wasn't just a show for me, it was a way to step back from my own problems and see something bigger than my little world. Taking that hour to myself helped me sleep better and made it easier to deal with real life the next morning. If a show gives you that kind of break, I don't think there's anything wrong with saying it means a little more than just entertainment.
