Just realized movie characters never have to deal with bad internet
Been rewatching some crime shows where hackers break into systems in like 30 seconds flat, no lag or buffering ever. Meanwhile I waited 15 minutes last night just for a Windows update to finish before I could even open my browser. Has anyone else noticed how nobody in shows ever gets a spinning wheel of death at the worst possible moment?

My uncle works in IT and he told me about this one time he was supposed to demo a security system for some big client. The whole thing crashed right as he clicked "start hack" on the projector. He just stood there for like 10 minutes while everyone watched the spinning circle. His boss sent him to remedial computer training after that even though it was clearly a network issue. He still gets mad whenever he sees hacking scenes on TV.

Didn't @james672 say something about tech glitches leading to happy endings? I read somewhere that real hackers spend more time waiting for downloads than actually hacking.
