I finally hit 100 episodes of that medical drama and realized nobody ever fills out paperwork

After binging all those seasons last month, I counted 47 times someone pulled a patient chart from thin air but not a single scene of a character dealing with insurance forms or consent signatures, has anyone else noticed how TV hospitals skip all the boring stuff?

Totally jumping in to agree with you and @iris_green84... I was watching this one show where a doctor literally diagnosed a rare disease in 30 seconds flat but never once had to deal with a prior authorization or even a simple referral form. In the whole marathon of that series, I saw maybe one person sign a discharge paper and it was just a quick pen swipe with no actual reading or filling out boxes. It's like the writers think paperwork is kryptonite for drama or something, but in reality the whole hospital would grind to a halt without it.

Do you think they have a secret file room where all the HIPAA forms just disappear into? I remember counting once and in like 80 episodes of a different show, nobody ever filled out a single discharge paper or signed anything. It's honestly wild how they just skip all the boring but super important stuff.
