Found out that TV characters never lock their doors when leaving home
I caught this watching a crime drama last week where a detective just walked into someone's house without knocking. Has anyone else noticed how nobody in shows ever bothers with deadbolts or keys?

Damn right I've noticed. It drives me nuts. In real life I lock my truck and my house every single time, even if I'm just running to the mailbox. That whole "walking right in without knocking" thing? Not how it works unless you want to get shot. What worked for me was just accepting it for what it is - lazy writing. These showrunners think we won't catch it, but we do. They could save ten seconds showing someone fumbling for keys, but I guess that's too much realism for primetime.
