Just realized my TV remote has a Netflix button I never asked for
Was at my buddy Mark's house in Chicago last Saturday watching the game. He kept complaining his remote had too many buttons he never uses. I told him mine has a dedicated Netflix button that sits right where I naturally rest my thumb. Every time I reach for the volume I accidentally launch Netflix. He laughed and showed me his remote has four streaming service buttons. We both sat there wondering who actually asked for these things. Why can't they just give us a simple remote with volume and channel? Has anyone else accidentally started a show during a tense sports moment?

Dude that exact thing happened to me during the Blackhawks playoff game last year. We're down by one with two minutes left and I go to turn it up and boom Netflix home screen. Missed the tying goal scrambling to get back. My remote also has a Hulu button I genuinely have never pressed once in three years. These companies must be paying big money to put those buttons on there because nobody asked for them.

Man I feel your pain, hitting the volume button during a tense game is basically asking for trouble with these remotes. It's like they designed them specifically to mess with us during crucial moments. And seriously, who on earth is using that Hulu button? I'm convinced it's just a way for them to collect data on how often we accidentally hit it. Bet they're making a fortune off those tiny buttons nobody ever wanted. Makes you wonder if the TV companies care more about ad money than us actually enjoying the game.
