Bought a $200 smart lock that bricked after 3 months and the company ghosted me on support
Wasted that cash plus had to pay a locksmith $85 to drill the thing off my door because the bolt got stuck halfway, so just stick with a regular deadbolt if you ask me.

Yeah, honestly I used to think they were cool too but this changed my mind completely.

...and that's exactly what happened to my buddy Mike with his smart lock from Ring or whatever. He got one of those fancy ones with the keypad and fingerprint reader, worked great for like two months, then one morning it just wouldn't recognize any code or even the app. He ended up having to call me at like 7am to borrow a battery-powered saw because the deadbolt was stuck halfway out and the screws were all rusted over from the rain. Idk, maybe it's just me but I feel like those smart locks are only good for people who live in a climate-controlled bubble with zero humidity.
