The electrician who tried to tell me how to hang board in Columbus

I was on a job in Columbus last year and this electrician kept telling me to stagger my joints wrong. He said I was wasting time by not butting them tight to the studs on a 12 foot wall. I looked him straight in the eye and asked him how many tape jobs he had mudded up in his life. He shut up real quick after that. Anyone else deal with other trades trying to boss you around on site?

That electrician telling you to butt them tight to the studs is just plain wrong, I've had plumbers try and tell me how to layout a wall before and I just gave them the same look.

Oh come ON man, you're totally missing the point here. Sometimes you GOTTA butt those boxes tight to the studs so the drywall has a clean line and nothing sticks out. It's not about being a professional, it's about the finished product looking good from the hallway. I've seen way too many walls where electrical boxes are a half inch too far back and then the cover plate wobbles like crazy. And yeah, plumbers might not know electrical codes but that doesn't mean their advice on layout is automatically garbage. They deal with rough stuff every day too, just different tools.
