The difference a proper sanding block made on my last ceiling job
I was finishing a popcorn ceiling removal in a Phoenix bungalow and my old sanding sponge left tiny swirl marks everywhere. After grabbing a 6 inch rigid sanding block with a flat face, the final skim coat went on smooth as glass in about half the time. What's your go-to tool for getting that perfect finish on a big flat area?

Wait you were using a sponge on a ceiling skim coat? That's wild, no wonder it was leaving marks. The rigid block is a total game changer for flat surfaces. I keep a long sanding pole handy for ceilings too, saves the shoulders.

Yeah it's like people get stuck on the first tool they learn for a job and never question it. I see it all the time with my neighbor who still uses a regular screwdriver for drywall when an impact driver would take half the time. Or folks wiping paint brushes on the rim of the can instead of using a tap bucket. You find the right tool once and it changes everything.

Tap bucket" sounds like something I'd discover ten years too late.
