PSA: I thought those fancy corner trowels were a gimmick until a job in Phoenix last month
For years, I just used my regular trowel and a steady hand for inside corners... thought the specialty ones were for people who couldn't cut a straight line. Then I had to do a whole house with vaulted ceilings, maybe 200 linear feet of corner bead. My buddy lent me his 4-inch corner trowel. Finished the mudding in half the time, and the lines were perfect. No ridges, no extra sanding. I bought my own the next day. Anyone else have a tool they swore was useless that actually saved your skin?

Yeah, those corner trowels are a game changer for long runs. I fought using one for ages, but it just lays the mud down flat and even every single time. Saves so much hassle on the back end with sanding.

Honestly, how long did it take you to get the hang of it? I tried one once and kept leaving gaps or putting on too much mud, so I went back to my knife. Maybe I just needed more practice.
