I just finished my 500th sheet of drywall this year and it made me rethink my whole process.
I hit that number on a small condo job in Springfield last Thursday. For years, I just focused on getting the sheets up fast. Seeing that count made me realize I was spending way too much time on taping and mudding later. My partner pointed out that if I took an extra minute per sheet to square them up perfectly, the finish work would be twice as fast. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and had a similar wake-up call about a different part of the job?

So what's your taping time per sheet now, compared to before?

Honestly, counting sheets sounds like a great way to drive yourself nuts. It's drywall, not a stock portfolio. An extra minute per sheet over 500 sheets is like, what, eight extra hours of hanging? I'd have to see some real proof that it cuts taping time in half before I start measuring every corner with a laser.
