I finally stopped fighting with corner beads after a pro showed me his trick in Des Moines last month

Guy at the supply house said to pre-bend the bead over your knee before nailing it on, and I figured he was nuts but tried it anyway. It cut my corner finishing time by about 20 minutes per room, has anyone else got a weird tip like that that actually works?

Wet the bead before bending it prevents that metal cracking sound.

Wet the bead before bending it" - huh, I gotta try that next time. I usually just bend it slow and steady over my thigh, but that cracking noise drives me crazy. What worked for me was actually the opposite of pre-bending though. I started nailing the bead at one end and letting it curve naturally into the corner as I went, instead of bending it first. Sounds backwards but it stopped the bead from popping off later. Took me a few rooms to get the hang of it but now I can do a whole corner in under a minute. That knee trick you mentioned sounds like a solid time saver too, might have to give it a shot this weekend.
