Appreciation post: just learned that drywall dust can stay airborne for up to 4 days

Read it in a safety bulletin from the union hall, which makes me rethink my cleanup routine. Anyone have a better method for keeping it contained in a finished space?

Whoa, that's actually a bit off. The really fine dust can settle in a few hours, but it's the super fine particles that hang around for days. The key is stopping it from getting airborne in the first place. I always tape plastic over doorways and use a wet vac with a HEPA filter right at the sander.

Yeah, and @jade688's plastic trick is smart, but don't forget that fine dust can actually get pulled into your home's air system and recirculate for weeks...
